Club Race School at Mosport

Trillium Chapter is very happy to once again be hosting a BMWCCA Club Race School in Canada, at Mosport International Raceway (Bowmanville, Ontario) on the weekend of April 28 - 29, 2012. Friday April 27 is an optional practice day. If you’re considering advancing to the ranks of BMW Club Racing, or want to be exposed to new concepts and on-track experiences, then this is the weekend for you. This school is open to all drivers experienced with high performance driving on the track. Instructors and signed off advanced students of the BMW Club high performance driver education program are welcome, as well as participants with equivalent experience from other recognized organizations. You will need to be a member of a chapter of the BMWCC or BMWCCA to participate.

The weekend consists of an intensive program of in-class sessions and on-track exercises. There will be five classroom sessions and four track sessions each day. The classes cover such topics as the rules, race craft, mental preparation, practice and qualifying techniques, surviving the start, etc. On-track sessions consist of a variety of exercises, including two or three-abreast driving, leap-frog passing, practice starts, and simulated qualifying, culminating in a mock race in the last session on Sunday (optional).

Any car suitable for use in a BMW Club driving school may be used, all the way up to fully prepared race cars. Participants do not need race prepared cars, nor do cars need to be BMW’s. Participants will have to complete technical inspections and personal waivers to access the Mosport grounds and must wear minimum Snell 2000 helmets to access the track.

The cost to students attending the two day school is $599 (taxes included). Students are also invited to participate in an optional practice day on Friday April 29. Cost for Friday is $225 (taxes included).

Club Race at Mid-Ohio

Saturday May 26 through Sunday May 27, 2012: Sponsoring Chapter: Northern Ohio Chapter

   NOC BMW CCA would like to thank all of you who participated in our Annual Memorial Day Race weekend last year and welcome all who will be participating this year. Being the N orth Central Region Premier Race there will be 3 points paying races. Two 25 minute (30 minute session) races on Saturday and either a 45 minute sprint or an enduro on Sunday.
   The Saturday schedule will consist of a practice session, a qualifying session for the first sprint race. The fastest lap time of the first sprint race will determine the starting grid for the car in second sprint race. The Sunday schedule will consist of a warm up/qualifying session and either a 45 minute(50 minute session) or an enduro. This race will be held right after the lunch hour so you will be able to get on the road early.
    As far as which races will be assigned which points will be announced at a later date. We are planning a fun fast action packed weekend and look forward to your participation. If you would want to stay overnight at the track please let me know ASAP as we are trying to determine if there would be enough to warrant our paying for the security etc to do this.
   Friday is available as testing/tuning day.
   You can pay on www.motorsportreg.com go there after you have registered here on the Club Race website. Make sure you have the Club Race on MSreg as we are also hosting an HPDE this weekend also. Or include payment(s) with your application and credentials. Check made out to NOC BMW CCA for all fees.
   There will be a MANDATORY ROOKIE meeting at Quality Inn & Suites, 1000 Comfort Dr, Bellville OH 419-886-7000 Friday May 25th at 8:00 pm. This is our headquarters hotel and we have a block of rooms reserved there until May 5th.

Club Race at Texas World Speedway

Texas weather in December is pretty awesome. Cool nights and beautiful days here in the land of Palm trees and Rodeos. The Houston BMWCCA Chapter will have three points races with one being a 60 minute enduro. Expect more information each month as we get closer to the green flag.

Texas World Speedway Road Course: Very fast, very technical and every Texas racer's favorite track!
