2003 Rules Clarifications

04-03 Stock Class Upper Strut Mounts 4-18-2003
If so equipped, the upper strut mounts of Stock Class cars must remain in the "as designed" location. They may not be reversed or swapped side-to-side or modified in any way.
04-02 Windshield Damage 4-18-2003
Any windshield with damage that impairs vision must be replaced. In addition, the windshield must be replaced if it has any one of the following:

1. Five or more bullseyes, stars or half-moons
2. A single bullseye, star or half-moon larger than 15/16-in. (size of US 25-cent piece)
3. Three or more distinct and different cracks exceeding 10 inches combined length
4. A single crack running from opposite edges (side to side or top to bottom)
5. A single crack through both the inside and outside surface of the glass
6. Sand blasting that can be caught with a fingernail

04-01 Seat belts and Harness Assemblies 4-4-2003
Any seat belt and/or harness assembly which has current SFI and/or FIA approval is allowed in Club Racing. This adds the current FIA type approval for Hans devices and lap belts which do not have a SFI rating.
01-03 Prepared Suspension Bushings 1-17-2003

Suspension bushing material is free. The definition of bushing material does not include replacement of bushings with spherical bearings or rod ends generically known as hiem ends. Solid bushings are allowed as long as they are fixed in place and allow rotation only on a single plane or axis. The only exception would be sway bar link connectors which are free.

01-02 Stock E36 M3 Aerodynamics 1-17-2003

The E36 M3 Lightweight wing and splitter are allowed in Stock class on non-Lightweight E36 M3's for the 2003 season. Height extensions beyond the factory stock format sold by BMW are not allowed in stock class.

Beginning with the 2004 season, the wing may only be used on the factory Lightweight model. The use of the Lightweight splitter on E36 M3's other than the Lightweight model will still be allowed.

01-01 Prepared Suspension 1-17-2003

In prepared class and above, adjustable rear spring perches may be used to adjust ride height. Coilover shock/ springs may only be used if the car was equipped from the factory with coilovers.

12-01 Shocks 12-21-2002
Single and/or double adjustable shocks may be used in stock and prepared classes as long as they mount in the factory original manner and location.
